Controlled Deposition of a Functional Piezoelectric Ultra‐Aromatic Peptide Layer

Abstract Peptide assemblies have attracted significant attention due to their high piezoelectric performance and biocompatibility. However, since piezoelectricity is an orientation‐dependent property, the alignment of these structures presents a major challenge for use in applications. We recently showed ultra‐aromatic peptide derivative termed Boc−Dip−Dip exhibit notably properties. Here, by obtaining aligned array, we were able realize potential form active layer. The voltage coefficient layer calculated using in‐house measurement set‐up was more than 2‐fold higher compared poled polyvinylidene−fluoride, gold standard biocompatible materials. Our findings pave way utilization novel biomaterials, bearing replace lead‐based toxic materials, especially field bio‐application.
